Wholesome Story A Day

Last Updated: January 22, 2026

Introduction

Wholesome Story A Day is developed by AnonListen and VitalikPro13. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (spoiler: very little), how we use it, and how we protect it.

Our Privacy-First Approach

This app is designed to be almost entirely anonymous. You don't need to create an account, provide your name, or share any personal information to use the app. The only personal information we may collect is an email address — and only if you voluntarily provide it when sending a message to the developer.

Information We Collect

Anonymous Identifiers

The app generates random identifiers that are not linked to your identity. These are just random strings of characters — they can't be used to identify you personally.

  • Your Anonymous User ID is a random identifier created by Firebase Authentication with no connection to personal information.
  • If you enable notifications, a Device Token is generated to deliver push notifications. It's device-specific and changes if you reinstall.
  • Your Visitor ID is a randomly generated identifier used to restore purchases if you reinstall. You can find it in the app's About section.

Information You May Choose to Provide

All personal information is optional and only collected if you choose to share it.

  • A display name if you contribute to the Wall of Kindness (you can also appear as "Kind Stranger")
  • An email address if you want us to be able to respond to your feedback or messages
  • Any messages you send — feedback, story submissions, or Wall of Kindness entries

Purchase Information

When you make in-app purchases, we store your contribution amount and tier (for Wall of Kindness display) and your subscription status (for premium content access). We never store payment card details — all payment processing is handled by Google Play or Apple App Store.

What Stays on Your Device

Your reading preferences, notification settings, saved stories, and cached content never leave your device. This data is stored locally and isn't sent to our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to deliver daily stories and audio content, send notification reminders (with your permission), process purchases, respond to your messages (if you provided an email), and display your name on the Wall of Kindness (if you chose to be visible).

What We Don't Do

  • We don't sell any information
  • We don't use data for advertising
  • We don't share data with third parties for marketing
  • We don't track your reading habits
  • We don't collect analytics or usage statistics

Data Storage and Security

Minimal data is stored on Google Firebase servers (anonymous IDs, purchase records, and any messages you send). Your preferences and cached content stay on your device. We use anonymous authentication, HTTPS encryption, and Firebase App Check verification to keep things secure.

Third-Party Services

Google Firebase

Handles anonymous authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications.

Firebase Privacy Policy

Google Play / Apple App Store

Handles payment processing for in-app purchases.

Children's Privacy

In compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@anonlisten.com.

Your Rights and Data Deletion

Since the app is almost entirely anonymous, we can only locate your data if you provide identifying information.

What We Can Delete

  • Developer messages — if you provided an email address
  • Wall of Kindness entries — if you have a display name
  • Purchase records — if you provide your Visitor ID (found in the About section)

How to Request Deletion

Email us at privacy@anonlisten.com with your email address, Wall of Kindness display name, or Visitor ID — whichever applies to the data you want deleted.

Managing Data Yourself

You can toggle notifications on or off in Settings, clear your local cache in Settings, or uninstall the app to remove all local data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised.
